IUNIT Center for Higher Education of Business, Innovation and Technology offers Observatory, as a new space for debates on the political, economic and social reality of Europe and the world.
This event was inaugurated on April 25 at the headquarters of this study center, with the conference "Europe at the crossroads", By Mr. Álvaro Gil-Robles and Gil-Delgado, president of the Valsaín Foundation. The act was introduced by the director of IUNIT, Mr. Luis Martínez Zorzo, who pointed out this space as "the ideal place through which to understand the current political, economic and social situation". He also presented the speaker as "a person who does not cease in his work to support democratic values". In the event, the magnificent rector of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), Mr. Javier Ramos López, who indicated that «talking about Europe is talking about us. The IUNIT observatory prepares us some sessions in which one more step is taken. Any conflict carries influence in our lives.
“We have put the economy above values. The generations that make war and live with the memory of the wound are disappearing and the new ones, which fortunately have been born and lived in a democracy, do not value democratic principles as much”, pointed out Álvaro Gil-Robles y Gil-Delgado. In the words of the rapporteur, “we must accept reality, in which Europe is much more plural. The unjustified aggression against Ukraine has had the effect of cohesiveness in Europe. The continent that was dividing and was in crisis ended up putting differences aside and looking for elements of common defense. Among the interventions of the public was that of Juan Luis Paniagua, Director of Master in Political Science and Public Management of IUNIT, who explained that "we have been able to quickly articulate a policy of humanitarian and military aid and make very conjunctural decisions on the convenience of the countries of the European Union experimenting with a certain military rearmament, a more defined foreign policy... but nuanced differences have remained on the importation of energy materials and sanctions. The European Union still shows some differences.
The IUNIT Observatory aims to study and analyze current events that allow their interpretation and incorporation into human knowledge. It is the intention of this study center to contribute to the understanding of this phenomenon, for the construction of quick and effective solutions in search of peace.
