IUNIT Center for Higher Education of Business, Innovation and Technology hold the event «The importance of Spanish in business in Latin America», by Gabriel Cachón Rodríguez, PhD in Legal and Social Sciences from the Rey Juan Carlos University and a graduate in Economic Law from the University of Vigo.

This conference, held on April 24, was introduced by the coordinator of the IUNIT Language School, Oriana Gómez, who emphasized to the students "the job opportunities that Latin America can offer with a good level of Spanish and the opportunities for growth in this region." It is the fourth language in global computation of speakers and the second most spoken language as a native language. In the words of Cachón, “in 2009 the ceiling of native Spanish speakers was reached. Currently, 7,5% of the planet speaks this language. In 2100, only 6,3% of the world population will be able to communicate in Spanish.

Spanish represents 9% of world GDP. «Spanish occupies the third position in the classification of languages based on its contribution to world GDP. Considering the main contributors of Spanish to world GDP, Spain and Mexico represent more than 55%”, added Cachón.

In this act, the importance of learning Spanish and culture was reflected today, as a tool to promote work and guarantee the success of companies that establish themselves or expand in this area of growth.
